About Amherst Community Task Force

Amherst Community Task Force (ACTF) consists of a group of concerned citizens who have joined together to develop a long-term framework to address at-risk social issues in our neighborhoods. On November 14, 2013 over twenty people from the general community, schools and police department met to discuss solutions to the prescription and heroin drug addiction issues. This was the first meeting to develop a long-term framework to address at-risk behaviors and other social issues in our neighborhoods. The Amherst Community Task Force area includes the City of Amherst (OH) Amherst Township and Amherst School District. The ACTF organized the following educational events: December, 2013, Prescription Drug Abuse and Heroin Abuse Information Presentation February, 2014, Hidden in Plain Sight: a traveling exhibit where adults learn about the addition issue. March, 2014, Robby’s Voice Parent Presentation: Presentation from a father who lost his son Robby to a Rx Drug addiction/Heroin overdose.
